Pailiji · Privacy Policy
Updated: October 1, 2026
1. Overview
Pailiji combines photos, sound and text into personal records. It also offers photo search, instant-photo-style card exports, and Live Photo and iCloud sync on supported iOS devices. Features vary by device and OS version.
The app is local-first. It does not require a Pailiji account and has no developer-operated server for storing your content. Records are stored on your device. When you use iCloud, system speech recognition, address lookup or sharing, the relevant services may process data as described below.
2. Records and on-device processing
The app stores photos you capture or import, paired Live Photo videos, recordings, transcribed or edited text, creation and modification times, favorite and deletion states, and optional location information on your device. Settings, custom recognition phrases and photo search labels are also stored locally.
Photo content search recognizes images on your device. The app does not upload images to developer servers for image labeling. Search labels are not publicly posted.
3. System permissions
- Camera: to capture photos and supported Live Photos.
- Microphone: to record sound associated with photos and sound required by related capture features.
- Photos or media access: to import photos you select and save exported images or Live Photos. Access is limited by your system authorization.
- Speech recognition (iOS): to transcribe sound using Apple's system service.
- Location while in use (iOS, optional): to record photo locations and display place names.
You can manage or revoke these permissions in system settings. Denying a permission affects the corresponding feature.
4. Speech recognition
The app uses Apple's system speech recognition service. When on-device recognition is supported, the app requires it. Otherwise, the system may send audio and related data needed for recognition to Apple. Availability depends on the device, language and system conditions, so not all iOS transcription can work offline. Processing is governed by Apple's Siri, Dictation & Privacy information.
The developer does not receive your recordings or transcripts through a developer-operated server. Transcripts may contain errors, and you can edit the text.
5. Optional location and photo metadata
On iOS, Record Location is off by default. When enabled with location permission, the app obtains location while the camera is in use and stores coordinates and place information according to your approximate or precise setting. Coordinates may be embedded in photo metadata. Apple's system map or geocoding services may process coordinates to look up city or address names.
Imported photos may already contain location, capture time and other metadata. Turning off location recording does not remove location from existing photos. Location and metadata may travel with synced records, exported originals or shared media. Review what you want to disclose before sharing.
6. iCloud sync
When you are signed in to an Apple Account, allow Pailiji to use iCloud, and system conditions permit, the app automatically syncs through iCloud between devices using the same account. Synced data includes photos, paired Live Photo videos, separate recordings, text, optional place information, favorites, creation and modification times, and recycle bin and deletion states.
The app may also sync export identifiers through the same iCloud account to coordinate the free export allowance. These identifiers do not include the exported images themselves.
This data is stored in your iCloud account using Apple's storage and sync service. It is not made public or uploaded to developer-operated servers. Processing and protection depend on Apple's services and your account settings; see Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud data security information.
You can manage the app's iCloud access in your system Apple Account and iCloud settings. Disabling sync or uninstalling the app does not delete existing cloud data. System backup is a separate service from the app's iCloud sync.
7. Saving, exporting and sharing
You can save images or supported Live Photos to the system photo library, or explicitly send content to other apps through system sharing and exported files. Recipients process content under their own privacy policies. Copies saved to the system library may participate in iCloud Photos or other backup services according to your settings.
Pailiji does not automatically publish your records. Deleting a record in the app does not automatically delete copies in the system library, exported files or recipients' storage.
8. Retention and deletion
You control your records. Deleted records first enter the recycle bin with a 30-day retention window, during which you can restore them. After that window, the app permanently purges them during cleanup, such as on launch or return to the foreground. You can also permanently delete them or empty the bin earlier.
When iCloud is available, deletion and restoration states sync to other devices on the same account, and permanent deletion requests removal of the corresponding cloud records. Completion depends on the network and Apple's services. System backups, exported files and photo library copies must be managed separately. Before uninstalling, confirm important content is saved and any needed sync has completed.
9. Subscriptions and purchases
iOS offers optional monthly and yearly auto-renewing Pailiji Pro subscriptions. Prices, trial eligibility and terms are shown in the App Store purchase interface. The app processes product identifiers, transactions and subscription entitlement status to unlock features and restore purchases. Apple handles payment; the developer does not receive your payment card or full payment information.
You can cancel renewal in Apple's subscription management. iOS purchases are subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement.
10. Advertising, service providers and support
The app contains no advertising or SDKs for cross-app tracking and does not sell your records to data brokers. Apple system services, the App Store, iCloud and sharing apps you explicitly choose may process data for their respective features.
If you contact support, we receive the email address, description and attachments you send and use them only to handle your inquiry. Send only information needed to troubleshoot. You can contact the same address to request deletion of personal information in support emails.

11. Policy updates and contact
When features or data processing change, we update this page and its date. Where needed, changes are explained through the app or system authorization flows.
